Mr. & Mrs. Beck | Capital Bluffs Event Center | Jefferson City, Missouri

My favorite month of the year is here, and our first October wedding happened last weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect!  Danielle and Phil are a lovely duo and together with their families, they hosted one of the most beautiful events.  Everyone welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home from the start!  When you walk into a wedding day, and you’re treated like family, you know the day is going to go so well!  During the early morning hours, Danielle and all her girls were preparing for the day with hair and makeup.  My team got right to work styling all her pretty bridal details!  Everything was gorgeous!  Her fall bouquet had us swooning from the beginning!  Rich shades of maroon filled the bouquet and paired perfectly with the greenery stems.  Her Florist: Jessica Ward with In Any Event did an amazing job with all of the florals for the day!

The morning was going smoothly, and after a few portraits with Danielle and the bridesmaids in their matching robes, it was time to get Danielle in her wedding gown.  With the help of her mom and sister, Danielle was in her gown within a few minutes!  She looked absolutely amazing as a bride!  You could tell everything was beginning to sink in with Danielle as she peered across the room and gazed into the mirror. Her mom was all smiles as she helped add the jewelry and veil to finish off the look!  Now that Danielle was in her gown, it was time for a reveal with all her girls!  One by one, we brought the girls in the room and told them not to turn around until we counted to three.  One… Two… Three… everyone turned around excited as can be to see Danielle as a dashing bride!  So much emotion could be seen in felt in the room as the girls quickly embraced Danielle for a big group hug!

Now it was time for a moment we had been waiting for!  Danielle would share a first look with her Dad Dale.  We had been anticipating this moment all day because we knew it would be a special one!  Danielle and her dad share a very special bond and even work together, so we knew this would be a first look full of so many emotions.  We set her dad Dale in place and told him not to turn around until Danielle tapped him on the shoulder, to which ht then said, “Don’t worry, I won’t peek!  I don’t even do that at Christmas.”  Dale stood beneath the church windows waiting anxiously for Danielle to arrive.  He swayed back and forth clasping his hands every now and then!  You could tell the anticipation was killing him!  Finally, Danielle arrived and effortlessly glided up to her dad.  She tapped him on the shoulder and he quickly turned around and immediately embraced her with the warmest hug.  I began tearing up behind the camera as I watched both Danielle and her dad get emotional in the moment.  This was a daddy daughter first look we won’t ever forget!

I must have updated my weather app on my phone hundreds of times throughout the week leading up to the Beck wedding.  Every time I checked it hoping to see the percentage chance of storms and rain to go down, and every time I checked the app I became disappointed once again.  We were gearing up for a the day to wet and rainy but we were not going to let that stop us from capturing gorgeous portraits!  Much to our surprise, the weather couldn’t have been more in our favor on this day.  Any time we were in doors, it would be raining and gloomy outside.  But as soon as it would be time for us to go outside for portraits, it would miraculously clear up for the entire amount of time we were documenting bridal party portraits.  We were beyond blessed to take all of the bridesmaid portraits and groomsmen portraits outside before the ceremony began without a drop of rain!  All of Danielle and Phil’s friends were so great to work with!  They all made our job so easy!

We were back inside just before the ceremony, and the rain clouds let loose and down came the rain.  Danielle and Phil shared in a traditional Lutheran ceremony with their family and friends in attendance!  The church pews were full and the instrumentalists began strumming wedding tunes.  One by one, the wedding party made their way down the aisle.  The music began to crescendo and the Ushers opened the church doors to reveal Danielle standing with her Dad.  Phil instantly had the biggest smile on his face as he witnessed Danielle for the first time on their wedding day!  Dale guided Danielle down the aisle as he would look at her and then glance up to see Phil grinning.  Once they made it to the alter, Dale hugged his daughter and shook Phil’s hand before finding his seat.

A nice message was given, vows were recited, rings were exchanged, and a unity candle was lit to unite the two as one!  The officiant announced the two husband and wife and they sealed the happy occasion with a sweet kiss!  Immediately, the church went from quiet to cheering and applauding as Danielle and Phil made their way back down the aisle.  After saying hi and engaging with all of their guests, family and friends lined the halls of the church.  They all began to blow bubbles as Danielle and Phil ran through the tunnel of loved ones!

We looked outside during family formals after the ceremony thinking we were going to have to do the remainder of portraits under covered areas around Mizzou campus since it was still raining pretty hard.  We still had hope though!  If the weather could clear up for us once already when we needed it to, who’s to say it couldn’t happen again.  It did just that!  As we were wrapping up family portraits, the rain slowed to a steady mist and eventually stopped. We couldn’t believe it!  All we know is, Danielle and Phil must have some pretty awesome people up in heaven helping orchestrate the weather for them!  We know lots of prayers were sent up throughout the week by Danielle Phil and their families and they definitely paid off!

We strolled to Mizzou campus once again to photograph the full bridal party and bride and groom portraits!  We couldn’t believe that the weather held off again for us the entire time!  Danielle and Phil both graduated from The University of Missouri, so it was important to them to revisit their old stomping grounds on their wedding day!  We made sure to take a few portraits with the columns because we knew that meant a lot to both Danielle and Phil!  We are just so thankful the rain held off long enough for us to do so.

After portraits, the bridal party hopped on a bus and traveled to Jefferson City where they would join their guests at Capital Bluffs Event Center!  Everyone cheered and applauded in jubilation as the new Mr. & Mrs. beck entered the reception space!  The next several hours were spent mingling with guests, listening to heartfelt and funny toasts, enjoying amazing food and company of others, and dancing the night away with the live band: The Cherry Pistols.  October 5 couldn’t have been more perfect.  We were welcomed with open arms and treated as family from the moment we arrived.  We are truly thankful for the wonderful hospitality we received by all!

Danielle and Phil, Congratulations you two!  Together, you are a power couple and we wish you many happy years together!  We know together, you two will do amazing things!  Enjoy some of our favorites from the day!
