Mr. & Mrs. Gammon | The Millbottom | Jefferson City, Missouri Wedding

Once I met Micayla and Cody and photographed their engagement session, I could not wait to document day one of their marriage! Micayla and Cody have a happiness that is absolutely contagious and a joy to be around! The Millbottom in Jefferson City, Missouri, would provide the perfect ambiance for the their beautiful wedding day. It was a day filled with love, warmth, and surprises. Rain was originally forecasted their big day, but lucky for them, they were blessed with the most beautiful day full of sunshine! From beginning to end, every aspect of the day was amazing.

Micayla and Cody are such a great couple, and their families were equally warm and welcoming to me and my team. From the moment we arrived, we were treated more like old friends, instead of vendors. I photographed their reception venue first thing and enjoyed their simple, yet elegant details. Next, we photographed Cody getting ready with the help of his best man. He read his note from his soon to be wife and tried not to tear up.

I headed upstairs to the loft where Micayla and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the day. The hair and makeup artists were hard at work, and laughter filled the air! It was finally time to get Micayla into her gorgeous wedding gown. Her mom helped her into the dress and added pieces of jewelry to complete the look! Micayla was one stunning bride. She was absolutely glowing all day. She did a quick reveal with her bridesmaids before meeting her dad inside the Millbottom for a first look.

Micayla and her father shared an emotional first look. They embraced for the longest time after the reveal. I adored this special moment shared between the two of them. She gifted her parents and Cody’s parents with presents and cards before heading out to her first look with her soon to be husband! Cody was waiting patiently in the Governor’s Garden for his beautiful bride to arrive. Once Micayla was set in place and her dress and veil were perfectly fluffed out, they shared the sweetest first look. Cody isn’t much of a smile guy for photos, but when Micayla called his name and he turned around, he was grinning from ear to ear! You couldn’t wipe the smile off his face if you tried. Their first look was one of my favorite moments of the day.

It’s clear that Micayla and Cody’s love for each other is the foundation of their relationship. The way they look at each other, the way they hold hands, and the way they laugh together all speaks volumes about the depth of their connection. Their is palpable, and it was a joy to document all day! Micayla and Cody had a great team supporting them on their wedding day. Terra, their planning coordinator, and her team did an amazing job keeping everything on track. Everything was well-organized, and the day went smoothly without any crazy hiccups.

Micayla and Cody got married inside the Millbottom on the stage with all of their family and friends in attendance. As Micayla walked down the aisle, Cody tried to maintain his overwhelming emotions. They smiled at each other so much during the ceremony. They both read heartfelt handwritten vows to one another, and had guests in tears. They sealed the ceremony with a romantic kiss and looked happy as ever as they made their way back down the aisle together. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour while the wedding party cruised around on the party bus for a bit. It was finally time for them to enter the reception! The DJ announced everyone in and guests rose to their feet cheering and applauding as the new Mr. & Mrs. Gammon cheerfully made their grand entrance!

As the reception progressed, the couple surprised everyone with a huge announcement. They had actually gotten married in November of 2021, nearly a year and a half before the wedding. Guests and family were shocked because they had kept this secret from almost everyone. The surprise announcement added an extra layer of excitement to an already perfect day. The speeches and toasts made by their loved ones were a testament to the deep love and respect they all share for the couple. The wedding day was filled with laughter, dancing, and fun.

Micayla and Cody’s wedding day was a beautiful celebration of love, family, and friendship. It was a day that will be remembered forever, not just because of the surprise announcement but because of the immense love that was present throughout the day! I cannot thank Micayla and Cody enough for allowing me and my team the opportunity to have a front row seat to such a big day in their lives.
