Mr. & Mrs. Kellogg | Glenn Acres Farm Wedding | Columbia, Missouri

Kathy and Brandon were married on a very warm and sunny Saturday in mid July.  After meeting with them last year, we could not wait for their summer wedding day.  Kathy and Brandon share a love so enduring and sweet! They are both so laid back and go with the flow kind of people, that we knew their wedding day would be one we’d be talking about for years to come.  Their wedding day was absolute perfection.  Every single family member and friend we met was amazing towards our team.  Everyone was so genuine, down to earth, and welcoming from the moment we arrived!  It was such a breath of fresh air to be part of a wedding from beginning to the end with no conflict and high stress moments.  We knew immediately that we had come together with such a wonderful team of vendors who all had one goal in mind.  Serving the couple!  Glenn Acres Farm was such a sweet surprise.  It was our first time photographing a wedding here and what a hidden gem this venue is!  The owners go above and beyond to not only serve the couple, but all of the vendors as well.  As soon as we arrived, Katie was taking care of our team and we truly appreciated the gracious hospitality we received.

From the moment we unzipped Kathy’s bridal gown bag, we knew her day would be something special and unique.  Her wedding gown had a bohemian feel with a the lace top and the hint of lavender in the bottom layers.  We LOVE Kathy’s style and we knew the day would be full of her touches.  She had a dreamy garden bouquet filled with lavender to pair with her lavender wedding gown.  Pops of purple were carried out with her wedding details.  The muted green bridesmaid dresses paired perfectly with the lavender!  The afternoon was quickly passing by and before we knew it, the time had come to get Kathy in her wedding gown.  Kathy’s mom helped her slip into the beautiful gown.  Her maid of honor helped with the finishing touches of jewelry before it was time for the big reveal to the rest of her bridal party.

One by one, we lined up Kathy’s bridal party.  They all stood anxiously anticipating the sight of Kathy as a bride! As her sweet friends and brother turned around, they were each hit hard with emotions.  Tears filled each of their eyes and they gasped in awe at her beauty.  This has quickly become one of our favorite moments to document on wedding days.  It’s always such a sweet treat to witness the reactions of a brides closest friends and family.  After getting Kathy ready, it was time for the first look with her groom.

We set Brandon in place for the first look and helped Kathy get settled before walking towards him.  We all gave the thumbs up, and Kathy began happily walking to Brandon with the biggest smile on her face.  When she made it to him, she paused for a split second before tapping him on the shoulder.  Brandon quickly turned around and embraced Kathy with the biggest hug.  They stood their hugging and sharing kisses, swaying back and forth as they took in the moment.  We always encourage couples to take their time with first looks and they did just that!  Kathy and Brandon really embraced the moment and were able to share several minutes of alone time with one another before taking portraits.

Saturday, July 13 was a gorgeous day!  It was hot with very high humidity, but we were pleasantly surprised just how well everyone would do during portrait time.  No one complained about being hot, no one gave us a hard time.  We were blessed with a wonderful and kind group of Kathy and Brandon’s closest family and friends.  They all took direction well and were willing to do just about anything for us to get the shot!  Our afternoon was full of lots of laughs and humor as we photographed all the guys and girls.

When it was time for bride and groom portraits, Kathy and Brandon were champs.  They are so effortless in front of the camera.  With each direction or prompt we gave them, they interacted with each other as if we weren’t there photographing them.  These two are just so in love and in sync with one  another it’s adorable to see.  Kathy has the most genuine and infectious smile.  Her personality can truly light up any room she walks into. It’s hard not to smile when you are around Kathy.  We love that Brandon keeps her laughing and giggling.  Kathy and Brandon share a love that is in the clouds.  We hope their love always stays there and they never come down from it.  We love their joy and adore these two as a couple.  We know Kathy and Brandon will accomplish amazing things together in life!

We spent the evening at Glenn Acres Farms celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Kellogg!  The room was filled to the brim with so much love from family and friends who adore Kathy and Brandon.  They are very lucky to have such close knit relationships with their friends and family.  The evening was full of laughs, good times, and dancing as the DJ got the party started.  Before we headed out for the night, we took Kathy and Brandon out one last time for a few night ending portraits with their dog Junie! This day was so amazing from start to finish!  We are so thankful for everyone who welcomed us and treated our team like family!!

Kathy and Brandon, thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to document day one of your marriage.  Your wedding day was an absolute dream and we have adored getting to know you both during this sweet season!  We wish you the very best. Enjoy some of our favorites from the day!
