Their Wedding Day
On September 1, 2018 we celebrated a love story, seven years in the making! Rosie and Justin were married at the St. Louis Zoo on the patio outside of River Camp with a reception following inside! Their day was so unique and full of subtle nuances that made their day stand out! The day began with beautiful sunny weather! You couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous wedding day! We arrived to a quaint Airbnb where the bridal party was getting ready for the day. This place was a photographers dream with white in every direction!! Rosie had all of her details ready for us as soon as we arrived so we could get right to work. She is quite the talented bride! She designed all of the pieces in the invitation suite to match the “Animal’s Always” art piece that is featured outside of the zoo. We adore Rosie’s personality and the fun aspects she included in the day! She is an animal lover, and especially loves cats, so it only made sense to incorporate wedding flats with cats on the top and soles of the shoes! The vibrant pattern inside the shoes even made for a cool ring shot!!
Our day was running smoothly and it was time to get Rosie into her wedding dress! It was such a sweet moment to see the joy on everyones faces as Rosie added the finishing touches to complete her look as a bride. Next, we headed to the guys where the room was never short of laughter. As Justin prepared for the day, his best friends made inside jokes to keep him laughing! They made our job so easy. He is so lucky to have such great friendships still to this day that were formed in high school. Once all the guys were ready, it was time to head out for the first look!
We decided The Muny at Forest Park would provide the perfect backdrop for the first look. It’s such a lovely location and looks so romantic- we just love it! Justin anxiously waited for Rosie to arrive. The moment was finally here, and all the anticipation leading up to the first look was worth it! Rosie gently tapped Justin on the shoulder and he turned around in awestruck at the site of his soon to be wife! They smiled, they laughed, and even teared up during their special moment. It was our favorite part of the day as they got to share a private moment with each other. They were able to relax and say whatever they wanted to each other with no one to interrupt their time.
The remainder of our afternoon was full of laughter. Their close knit group of friends kept everyone cracking up all throughout bridal party portraits! They have definitely been one of the most fun bridal parties we have ever photographed and we loved every minute of it! No matter what we asked of them, they did it without missing a beat. It made our portrait time a breeze.
We had about an hour until ceremony time so we made our way to the zoo! We strolled through the park stopping at Rosie and Justin’s favorite exhibits. Our favorite was the sea lion tunnel. It’s not every day that you get to photograph at such cool locations! The time had finally come for the ceremony!
Rosie was guided down the aisle by her father and Justin looked so proud and excited as Rosie made her way to him. They shared a short but sweet ceremony in an intimate setting with their closest family and friends in attendance. Rosie and Justin decided to write their own vows and as they each recited what they had written, we couldn’t help but tear up. We LOVE when couples write their own vows. There is just something so special about writing your own promises to each other. Their vows were absolutely adorable! As the officiant pronounced them husband and wife, they quickly made their way back down the aisle as cheers filled the air.
From start to finish, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! Everyone was so welcoming and nice to our team! Rosie and Justin, Thank you so much for trusting us to capture day one of your marriage. You two are a match made in heaven and we know together you will do great things! We wish you both a lifetime of happiness! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Klinkner! It has been a pleasure to document this special season for you two!
