Liz & John | A Romantic Wildcliff Wedding in Blackwater, Missouri

When Liz first told me about her dream for an outdoor wedding at Wildcliff Weddings and Events in Blackwater, Missouri, I knew it was going to be something special! But as the big day approached, the forecast called for rain, and we all held our breath hoping the weather would cooperate. Thankfully, on Saturday morning, we woke up to overcast skies with the sun peeking through, no rain in sight. It was the perfect backdrop for a day full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories!

John started his morning getting ready in the apartment above The Hollow, surrounded by his dad and brother. The moment he opened his gift from Liz, a nice watch with a heartfelt engraving on the back, his excitement really set in! You could feel how ready he was to finally see his bride!

Meanwhile, Liz was tucked away in the charming Cottage at Wildcliff, preparing for the day with her bridesmaids and mom. The joy on her face as she slipped into her gown was radiant, and her mom beamed with pride watching her daughter transform into a bride. One of the sweetest moments came just outside the Cottage, where Liz shared an emotional first look with her dad. His face lit up when he saw her, and it was such a touching moment to witness!

Before the ceremony, we captured easygoing and joyful bridal party portraits, everyone was such a breeze to work with, which made our job effortless and fun. As guests settled into their seats under the soft overcast sky, Liz made her way down the aisle on her father’s arm. The look on John’s face said it all, pure awe and emotion as he saw his bride for the first time! He was completely swept away by her beauty!

The ceremony was made even more special with Liz’s boss officiating, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the celebration. With the words “I now pronounce you husband and wife,” Liz and John became Mr. & Mrs. Wells! Right after the ceremony, the two dashed away to the floating dock to exchange private vows. Liz got emotional, and John lovingly wiped away her tears,it was such a genuine and tender moment that spoke volumes about their love for each other!

After family formals and bridal party portraits, we had some time to sneak away with the newlyweds for romantic portraits around the scenic Wildcliff property. Liz and John are such a darling pair, so full of energy, laughter, and an unmistakable connection! Their joy was contagious, and it was an absolute dream documenting their love!

The celebration continued at The Hollow, where Liz and John made their grand entrance to cheers from loved ones. They cut their cake, laughed through heartfelt toasts, and enjoyed a delicious dinner surrounded by family and friends. Their first dance as husband and wife was so sweet and genuine, and just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more magical, golden hour arrived!

We took a stroll through the charming streets of downtown Blackwater for sunset portraits. The golden light, small-town charm, and undeniable chemistry between Liz and John made it a photographer’s dream!
