Mr. & Mrs. Winslow | The Millbottom | Jefferson City, Missouri Wedding

When I officially met Bailey and Brock for their engagement session earlier this year in STL, I knew their wedding day was going to be something special!  The way these two love each other is such a joy to witness.  They are absolutely crazy about one another, and it shows in every single portrait.  Bailey has the bubbliest, kindest personality and is always giggling, while Brock keeps her laughing with a dry sense of humor that’s truly unmatched. Together, they just work.

Their wedding day was everything I imagined it would be.

A timeless, elegant black and white color palette brought The Millbottom in Jefferson City, Missouri to life in the most stunning way.  The space was transformed so beautifully.  Every detail felt intentional and refined.  One of my favorite elements was the giant WINSLOW marquee letters glowing beneath the stage, right where Bailey and Brock would later share their first dance as husband and wife.  It was classic, elevated, and absolutely perfect.  I couldn’t get enough of how elegant the entire venue felt!

My only complaint about the day? The bitter cold.  Gusty winds and temperatures dipping into the teens made outdoor photos a challenge, but even that couldn’t dampen the magic of the day!

Brock and his guys got ready at a nearby hotel while Bailey and her girls prepared at the loft on site at The Millbottom. Once Bailey, her mom, and her sisters were ready, they gathered on the couch sipping bubbly and giggling together.  It was one of those quiet, joy filled moments that feels so sweet and fleeting all at once.  Bailey slipped into her stunning gown with the help of her mom, while finishing touches were done by her sisters.  Everyone was giddy seeing her as a bride, Bailey truly defines classic elegance!

One of the most emotional moments of the day came when Bailey’s mom gifted her a sentimental item a purse clutch made from material from her own wedding dress.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, as Bailey and her sisters were all in tears.  It was such a meaningful, full circle moment.

Once Bailey was ready, she shared a first look with her dad.  It was a darling, emotional moment made even sweeter as her mom watched on with the biggest smile.  The three of them then clasped hands and shared a prayer over Bailey and Brock and the day ahead.  It was intimate, grounding, and incredibly touching to witness.

Next came Bailey and Brock’s first look together!  Brock was clearly nervous, but the second Bailey tapped his shoulder and he turned around, all of that melted away.  The two of them were instantly giddy and smiling ear to ear, completely wrapped up in each other!  They exchanged personal vows privately, and then Brock surprised Bailey with the most beautiful Cartier necklace. Her reaction was priceless.  Eyes wide, mouth open, completely stunned by his sweet gesture!

We braved the cold for a few outdoor portraits, moving quickly and ducking back inside between shots to warm up.  From there, we headed to the Missouri State Capitol, where we captured some bride and groom portraits before heading inside to explore the incredible architecture and artwork.  In true wedding day fashion, we eventually got a friendly reminder that flash photography wasn’t allowed, but not before snagging several stunning images!

Guests gathered at the church for the ceremony, where Bailey and Brock were officially pronounced husband and wife.  After sealing their marriage with the sweetest kiss, they dashed back up the aisle absolutely glowing as the new Mr. & Mrs. Winslow!!

We made a quick stop at the Governor’s Garden for a handful of portraits before the bridal party hopped onto the trolley to ride around the city.  It was just far too cold to linger outside for long.

Back at The Millbottom, guests enjoyed cocktail hour before Bailey and Brock made the most unforgettable entrance.  They were led into the venue by a live saxophone player.  Guests jumped to their feet, waving napkins in the air, setting the tone for an incredible night.  After dinner, heartfelt and hilarious toasts were shared, including a surprise parody song from Bailey’s sisters that had everyone, especially Bailey and Brock, laughing hysterically!

The live band took over next as Bailey and Brock shared their first dance beneath the glowing marquee letters, and from there the dance floor stayed packed all night long.  The energy was unmatched!  We ended the night sneaking outside for a few final portraits in the street, with the Capitol glowing in the background.

Bailey and Brock, thank you so much for allowing me to document your wedding day!  It has been an absolute pleasure working with you both during this sweet season of life. What a perfect day spent celebrating your love and your wonderful families!  Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Winslow!
