We met Sally and Josh at Forest Park in St. Louis last week for a very HOT engagement session! The temperatures were extremely warm and the humidity wasn’t making anything better. But Sally and Josh were true champs as they braved the heat for their summer engagement session. Though it was uncomfortably warm for the majority of the session, it didn’t hinder us from creating beautiful portraits of this darling pair! From the moment Sally and Josh arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. They came dressed to impress: Sally in her adorable white summer dress and Josh complementing her outfit perfectly with a button-down shirt and slacks. We enjoyed strolling around Forest park for their session and loved all of the gorgeous locations the park had to offer. No matter what we had Sally and Josh do during the session, they did so with a smile! These two are quite the pair! Josh keeps Sally laughing and it’s obvious that he absolutely adores her! Sally and Josh are cute as can be and looked so great in every surrounding we placed them in.
Their Love Story
When Sally moved back home after graduating from Truman with her masters, she had many plans for her new life in St. Louis, none of which included dating. However, her mother had different plans in mind. Earlier that spring, Sally’s mom learned about a coworkers nephew and thought they would be a good match. Josh’s aunt told him to reach out to Sally after she moved back home. Within 48 hours of moving back to St. Louis, Josh messaged Sally on Facebook. Sally had known Josh’s aunt for years and never would have imagined that she would introduce Sally to her future husband.
For their first date, Sally and Josh went to Bar Italia in the Central West End. After dinner, they decided to get drinks at McGurks, which has now become one of the spots they frequent. They quickly realized during their first date that the conversation was very easy and they felt very comfortable around one another. Sally knew that Josh was The One by the third date. Nothing specific happened. They just meshed well from the beginning. Their conversation continued to flow and be very easy and Sally knew that they shared many of the same values and viewpoints. Sally could always easily see a future with Josh!
The Proposal
After dating for a little over a year and a half, Josh knew it was time to propose to Sally. Josh took Sally to 808 Maison for dinner and shortly after dinner, Josh got down on one knee to propose! Sally never even suspected that a proposal was about to happen because Josh was so calm the entire dinner. Josh later told Sally on his way to pick her up that night that he forgot his wallet and had to go back home to get it. After he proposed, Sally and Josh went to McGurks where their family and friends were waiting to greet them and celebrate the engagement!
