I met up with Jordyn and her fiance’ Nik downtown in Jefferson City on Wednesday evening for the most perfect engagement session! These two came dressed to impress and blew me away with their modeling skills. Within the first few minutes, they were both comfortable in front of the camera and made my job so easy. I loved the way Nik always had Jordyn laughing and smiling throughout the session. It’s very evident these two are a darling pair. Their connection is sweet and endearing! We hit several spots downtown while enjoying the gorgeous fall weather, before heading to Ashland to finish the session. I love when couples pick locations that I wouldn’t otherwise have access to without them.
For the second half of the evening, we explored the property where Nik’s parents live. The property has many pretty tree lines and a beautiful pond in the front yard. It was the perfect backdrop for portraits and the glowy light near sunset made it even more gorgeous! I had so much fun with these two and loved documenting their adorable connection. I cannot wait to photograph them again on their wedding day next year!
How They Met
Jordyn worked at a gym in town that Nik frequented. Every time he went to the gym, he was trying to get Jordyn’s attention. There was just something about her that sparked his interest. Eventually, Nik decided to apply for a job at the same gym in hopes of gaining the attention of Jordyn. As luck would have it, he got a job there. Now that he and Jordyn were working together, it made it easy for him to make his move. The two would connect instantly and soon after they began talking, Nik told Jordyn a joke that made her laugh so hard, that she spit the water out of her mouth! She liked how Nik’s sense of humor could make her react in that way. No one had ever made her laugh so hard before. Eventually, the two would share their first date. They both have a love for Mexican food, so it only made sense to go to El Jimador for the special occasion.
How He Asked
After over four years of dating, Nik knew it was time to make things official. He would plan a fourth of July proposal to get the girl of his dreams! On July 4th of this year, Jordyn and Nik were on a rooftop enjoying Independence day in true fashion by watching the firework show. Nik waited for the perfect moment to pop the question. As the firework finale began, Nik knelt down on one knee, as Jordyn stood facing away from him. Jordyn turned around to see Nik holding a ring! She said yes and they enjoyed the remainder of their sparkling evening!
I couldn’t be any more excited for these two! Enjoy some of my favorites from their session.
