Megan + Kody | Foley, Missouri Engagement Session

We met Megan and Kody and their energetic dog Goose for their engagement session!  We joined them on a property owned by their friend where a lovely little sunflower patch made for the perfect backdrop.  The light was so pretty and golden and filtered through the trees perfectly.  When we first arrived, Kody wasn’t a huge fan of taking portraits.  By the end of the session, he went along with whatever we asked him to do and he seemed to be having a great time with his fiance.  Megan and Kody are an adorable couple!  Kody has a way of easily making Megan crack up laughing.  When these two are around one another, it’s obvious they are meant to be!  These two, along with their dog Goose make the perfect trio.

We ended our time with Megan and Kody on a sentimental piece of land nestled in the woods.  We hiked a little ways through the woods and ended up at a gorgeous waterfall.  They have the coolest area set up near the waterfall with chairs circling a bonfire.  A hammock rests in the trees, making it the perfect oasis to escape from it all.  You can tell Kody feels at home on this little slice of heaven!  We enjoyed spending the evening with these two and getting to know them!  We cannot wait to document their wedding day in the spring.

Their Love Story

Kody was working at St. Louis Children’s hospital and Megan was going to school right next door.  They even parked their vehicles in the same parking garage; but, Megan and Kody wouldn’t officially meet until a dating app lead them together!  Though the app brought them together, it seemed like it would have been a possibility to meet without it.  Their first date was at a Mexican restaurant.  Kody drove to meet Megan near her college apartment. He got stuck in traffic and was running late (which he hates).  He wore a high-vis work shirt and jeans and Megan knew instantly that this was her type of guy!  After they ate dinner, they hugged goodbye and agreed to have a second date a few days after.  Kody thought Megan was “real cute” but was a little concerned because she didn’t drink with him. (She wasn’t 21 yet).

How He Asked

A little over three years into the relationship, Kody was ready to propose to Megan.  in July of 2019, Kody got a bandana made by one of their friends that said “will you marry me”.  He had it tied around their lab Goose’s neck and proposed in his parents kitchen with goose right beside him.  Even though the two had been dating for what felt like forever, Megan didn’t know if  Kody was actually finally asking or just messing with her.
