Mr. & Mrs. Jones | Columbia, Missouri Wedding

Carey and Blake were united in marriage at a small intimate backyard wedding on July 18!  The day, though it was nothing like they originally planned, was absolutely perfect.  The pandemic has really given us a new perspective on things.  At the end of the day, Carey and Blake were married, and that’s what truly matters.  Though their guests were not able to attend the intimate affair in person, they were able to live stream the wedding over YouTube.  Carey’s parents, Blake’s mom and brother, a guitarist, the officiant and his wife were the only people present.   Carey and Blake stated their vows, exchanged rings, and promised forever with one another on the hot July day.  The ceremony was simple and sweet, yet held so much significance.  When Jimi pronounced them husband and wife,  pure joy instantly flashed across both Carey and Blake’s face.

We arrived shortly before the ceremony to document a few bridal details, exchanging of gifts and cards, and some sweet getting ready moments.  Once Carey was in her dress, she shared the cutest first look with her father.  He gasped as he witnessed Carey as a breathtaking bride!  He immediately grabbed Carey and embraced her as he tried not to cry.  Just before the ceremony, Carey and Blake shared a first look with one another.  They were both so giddy and excited to see each other for the first time on the wedding day.  They first held hands back to back and really took in the moment.  They both stood in anticipation and finally, the moment had come.  Carey walked up to Blake and tapped him gently on the shoulder.  He turned around, stunned at the sight of his beautiful bride!  Carey shared a very thoughtful and sentimental gift with Blake during the first look that had us all in tears.  She had a pin made with a photo of Blake’s late father.  She wanted him to be able to keep his father close to his heart on one of the most important days of their life.

Now that the adorable first look happened, it was time for the ceremony!  A few technical glitches later, and Carey and Blake would finally begin their wedding ceremony.  Soft tunes were strummed on the guitar as Carey was escorted down the aisle by both her mom and dad.  The officiant, who just so happens to be owner of the home where the ceremony took place, put together a perfect message.  It was short, sweet, and sentimental.  Even Carey’s mom did a reading during the ceremony to honor Carey’s grandmother.  The ceremony was meaningful and special and we were so happy to be their documenting it all.

Just after the ceremony, we photographed a few family portraits and bride and groom portraits.  The day was short, but couldn’t have been more perfect.  Carey and Blake are a special pair!  They balance one another out and their love is pure and evident.  The way they both look at each other is the cutest thing to see.  We have no doubt Carey and Blake will do amazing things as husband and wife.  We are so thrilled and grateful we get the opportunity to celebrate their love story again next year as they will celebrate with all of their friends and family!  Enjoy some of our favorites from their perfect day.
